Brief description |
Velvet Brown is an international soloist, composer/arranger, chamber musician, recording artist, conductor, orchestra player and teacher. This is her sixth solo CD. She has performed and taught in Europe, Scandinavia, Asia and North America. She is principal tuba at the New Hampshire Music Festival and has been principal tuba with the River City Brass, guest vocalist with the Lahti Philharmonic (Finland), the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and as assistant principal tuba with the St. Louis Symphony and Fort Wayne Philharmonic. She is a professor of music at Pennsylvania State University and an artist faculty member at the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University. |
