Additional info/contents	Proxima Centauri B is an Earth-like exoplanet in the habitable zone of the star Proxima Centauri, approximately 4.2 light-years from Earth. Its synchronous rotation and potentially dense atmosphere make it a fascinating object of research. The composition "Destination Proxima Centauri B" by Mathias Wehr, commissioned by the Karben Town Band in 2023, explores humanity's potential escape from a threatened Earth to a new home. The work combines scientific facts with musical interpretation and reflects the tension between rescue and escape. It premiered in December 2023. (© musicainfo.net)
