Reason enough for the composer to title the work "Elysium," the "place of the blessed" according to Greek mythology, and to figuratively send the listener seven different "postcards" from this city. The seven sections of the concert piece are played without interruption. The work begins radiantly and enthusiastically and features many different musical styles.
