Additional info/contents	Composed in 2021/22 for the 125th anniversary of the Swiss Association of Master Builders, and premiered by the ‘Master Builders Brass Band’, an ad hoc band made up of people from the construction industry. The form of the blues seemed very appropriate for this composition; on the one hand, the pounding accompaniment is reminiscent of hammering on a construction site, but on the other hand, I wanted to make the 125-year-old ‘master builders’ appear in a modern guise. In fact, construction tools can also be included musically and theatrically: hammers, taloches, trowels, or even a cement mixer. The work consists of three parts, the actual blues, a jazzy ballad with solos of flugelhorn and euphonium, and a fast final section that brings back the pounding motif.
