Additional info/contents	With this "Opéra comique" operetta from 1872, the French composer Charles Lecocq (1832 - 1918) established his reputation in the field of light opera music / operetta, first in Brussels, then in Paris and later in England and Germany. Many of his works surpassed the operettas of luminaries such as Jacques Offenbach and Florimond Roger Hervé. Lecocq therefore occupies an important place in the history of operetta music. "La Fille de Madame Angot" has endured to this day and has acquired a permanent place in the repertoire of operetta houses. His music is generally considered to be extraordinarily charming. This is also clear in the overture of this operetta: short in duration, but overwhelming in beauty.
