Additional info/contents In a vacant house, young people organize a party that quickly gets out of hand. The music blares, more and more guests arrive, and the mood is exuberant. But suddenly the parents unexpectedly come home and panic breaks out. Instead of ending the party, however, the parents turn a blind eye and allow the celebration to continue - on the condition that nothing is broken.

This story is reflected musically in Andreas Simbeni's composition for youth orchestra. Simbeni's work captures the excitement and energy of the young people, which begins in a dynamic and lively festivo rhythm. The tension and uncertainty when the parents arrive could be represented by calmer, more threatening passages, followed by a joyful, liberated finale that expresses the relief and continuation of the party. Simbeni's composition is ideally suited to musically accompany the highs and lows of such an adventure.

It was the perfect opportunity. The house was empty for the weekend, the parents were away, and the plan was clear: to have the house to themselves. The idea of organizing a party had been floating around for a long time, and now the moment had come. Messages were sent, drinks were bought, and little by little the living room filled up with the first guests. The music blared from the speakers, the lights were dimmed, and the mood was lively.

The young people had thought everything through carefully. No chaos, no damage - everything had to be controlled. But as is often the case with parties, things quickly got out of control. More and more people came, friends brought friends, and soon the house was full of people nobody knew. The music got louder, the conversations became unmanageable, and something was happening in every corner.

While some danced and laughed in the living room, others retreated to the kitchen to secretly talk about all sorts of things. Small groups were gathered in the garden, and the air was filled with the mixture of laughter and the music that continued into the night. It seemed as if the evening couldn't go any better.

But then, completely unexpectedly, the moment that everyone had secretly been dreading: the unmistakable sound of a car driving into the driveway. The car door slammed shut, and in that moment time seemed to stand still. Panic spread. "The parents are back!" someone shouted through the crowd, and the mood was instantly blown away.

Glasses were hastily put down, the music suddenly turned down, and all that could be heard was excited whispers. Some guests tried to sneak in unnoticed through the back door, while others just nervously stepped on the spot, as if they could make themselves invisible.

The door opened, and there they stood - the parents, visibly surprised to see the place full. For a moment there was absolute silence. The young people waited for the storm, for the accusations, for the inevitable end of the party.

But then something unexpected happened. Instead of getting angry, the parents looked around briefly, exchanged a look and gave a small smile. They understood. Perhaps they remembered their own youth, similar moments, and after a short sigh they said: "We'll turn a blind eye. But make sure nothing gets broken."

The relief was palpable. Slowly the music returned, the laughter started again, and the party got underway - this time with the silent permission of the parents. The young people paid attention, the mood was still exuberant, but a little more civilized, as if they now knew that happiness was hanging in the balance.

The night went on, and when the last guests eventually left, a feeling remained: a mixture of adventure, thrill and the realization that sometimes everything can turn out well - even when it was on a knife edge.
