Composer Yagisawa, Satoshi
Difficulty level 3+
Duration 5:50
Additional info/contents There is a vast karst landscape in China called Zhangye Danxia, which features beautiful striped layers of red sedimentary rocks. The sight of the naked geological layers transforming into seven different colors in the sunlight is so spectacular that it is often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of the East.” The theme of the work is an adventure story in which we travel through the shapes, forces and colors of the earth from different perspectives, as if we were birds. Describe the spectacular landscape with free interpretation! This has been revised to allow the release to be carried out by only 20 players. Range, rhythm and other difficulties are designed to be overcome quickly in order to focus on creating a great musical image that goes beyond simply fulfilling technical aspects.

On behalf of Professor XI Weilong (Xinghai Conservatory of Music, Vice President; China Band Society, President; Guangdong Band Association), I worked with him to judge the Korean Wind Band Competition.
World premiere in December 2019 by the Director's Band of the Guangdong Band Association under the direction of Di Zhu.
