Additional info/contents This work was premiered in 2010 at the "1300th Anniversary Ceremony" in Nara, Japan.
The world knows that the current capital of Japan is Tokyo. However, the first city in Japanese history was built in Heijo-kyo in Nara in 710 AD. At that time, a Japanese delegation travelled to Tang (today's China) to find out about the international situation. The Japanese felt highly enlightened by the mediation of the foreign culture on the continent. The basic form of the Japanese nation was thus established. Heijo-kyo became the terminus of the Silk Road that connected Europe and Japan. The work was created to symbolise the powerful Japanese culture that has continued from the past to the present.
The songs are composed according to these themes and symbolise Japan's original nature, accompanied by percussion instruments such as Japanese drums:
1. symbol of the sea (In the future, the delegation rides the rough waves of the sea and travels between the continent and Japan)
2. pious prayer
3. a heroic celebration
If Japanese drums are not available, use concertante percussion instruments. (tom-toms, bongos, etc.)
