Additional info/contents	In “Sparkle,” Lennert Van Laenen describes the glitter of a shooting star as it glides across the sky on a dark night. The work begins with an acoustic representation of glitter, which serves as a guide for the entire piece. The quiet middle section symbolizes the beauty of the starry sky, after which a new tempo announces the finale. Sparkle was voted “runner-up” in the international composition competition organized by the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain in spring 2023.
