Additional info/contents	The work Centum Octo was commissioned by the community of Serfaus for its 800th anniversary. The suite consists of three through-composed movements, each of which deals with events that shaped the village of Serfaus in the long term. I. The Lords of St. Zeno: Here, medieval sounds dominate the composition. Simple structures and harmonies determine the introduction. Tambourine and field drums are reminiscent of the nobles, and a damsel of the castle with warm clarinet sounds is also not to be missed here. II A village is burning in 1942: External musical effects, a falling oil lamp and then a village in turmoil. Together, however, the "Fausers" manage to put out the fire. Chromatic runs and dynamic effects musically portray the drama. Perplexed after the fire, but soon in a spirit of optimism, they look to the future. III Tourism 1950-2020: In the village there are some visionaries who strongly promote tourism and make the small mountain farming village what it is today. Rhythmic themes, beat changes and a processed motif bring a mood of departure. A short pause for reflection: an intermezzo is meant to prompt us to think - is everything really good like this? It continues euphorically to the end. Programme notes *: On 07 May 2022, the Musikkapelle Serfaus welcomed numerous concertgoers to the spring concert in the Via Claudia hall. The concert was dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the community, which was already celebrated in 2020. For this occasion, the Musikkapelle Serfaus had the work "Centum Octo" composed by the Fendler music school teacher and composer Stefan Köhle. The work caused enthusiasm in the audience and also Mayor Paul Greiter, who was presented with the anniversary gift in the form of a framed score, was visibly taken with the successful premiere.
