Additional info/contents Lux Futura ("Light of the Future") was commissioned by the Royal Delft Wind Orchestra and is based on the letters "D-E-L-F-T" using the notation system of Béla Bartók. This musical theme, inspired by the name Delft, also refers to the Trinitas bell or Bourdon bell of the Oude Kerk in Delft, which is only rung for funerals of members of the Dutch royal family. The "Delft Melody" segues into the "Agneta March", which refers to the history of the Royal Delft Wind Orchestra. In addition, the "love theme" played by the bass instruments represents the love of the locals for their city throughout history. In the middle movement, the beauty of the city is represented with a solo by the English horn, a kind of ode to the pretty city of Delft. For the performance, samples recorded in Delft can be used with sounds from the city to create a truly magnificent spectacle. The three samples can be downloaded from the websites www.halleonardeurope.com or www.kevinhouben.be.
