Additional info/contents "Little Green Bag" was written by George Baker (pseudonym of Hans Bouwens) & Jan Visser and provided the George Baker Selection's big breakthrough in 1970. The song is based on the recognisable and catchy bass run, which bass guitarist Jan Visser always used to play his fingers loose during rehearsals. Funny to know is that the song is actually not about a green bag at all but about a US dollar note ("Greenback"). The band had huge success with this song, yet it never reached a high spot in the charts. Because the record was used a lot in commercials, often covered (by Tom Jones, among others) and also used in Quentin Tarantino's film "Reservoir Dogs", this song never fell into oblivion. The song has therefore become a true classic and should definitely not be missed in the "Made in Holland" series.
A joy to play for all the musicians and the positive vibe will certainly spread to the audience, but the bass instruments of the orchestra will have to loosen up their fingers in this song!
