Additional info/contents
This piece explores the life span of a tornado and what instrument is better suited for this than the tuba?
It poses challenges in terms of dynamics and articulation, as well as interplay with the soloist. The piece is based on a scale with seven pitches (since "tornado" has seven letters) and is notated as a concertante E-flat major scale with three accidentals. Only these seven notes are played throughout the piece. The piece has three movements:
1. impatient storm cell
2. cumulus clouds
3. multiple vortex tornado
