Programme notes *: An excerpt from Jakob Gruchmann's work description: "Tone Colours of a City: The works of the Salzburg graphic artist Franz Riegersperger (1920-2015) - especially "Festklänge dieser Stadt", "Hellbrauner Zyklus" and "Wasserspiele - Spielende Wasser" - were for me the inspiration for the idea of a musically recorded Salzburg contribution. The city awakens: from the fanfare sounds of the Hohensalzburg Fortress - combined with the freshness of the playing waters of the Hellbrunn Summer Palace - the impressions of Mozart go directly to festivities in the prince-archbishop's court. At dawn a lonely skipper has got lost in the fog of the Salzach, but finally the fog opens and festive sounds resound from the open gates of the churches. The work became a dream symbolism, timeless, a paradise of thoughts, a store of knowledge, faith, culture, fantasy, fairy tales and music, a bridge to the world".
