Additional info/contents With this composition, the author describes the emotional phases of the war between the Achaeans and the Trojans. The legendary and best-known symbol is surely the (Trojan) horse that was built by the Achaeans to enter through deception the city of Troy and destroy it.

Throughout the piece, a persistent four-note motive will lead to the two main themes: one describes the heroic deeds and the construction of the horse, the other is the theme of Helen. The first part of the composition is very energetic with color contrasts and thematic changes. The second part portrays Helen’s pain as she feels guilty for having caused such a dreadful war. The third part begins with a description of the battle and concludes with the reprise of the initial themes.

The Trojan horse is a story, or perhaps a legend, that has fascinated thousands of generations and therefore deserves to be told.

The myth of the Trojan Horse, one of the most famous stories from Greek mythology, has not only influenced literature and visual arts over the centuries, but has also found its way into the world of music. The legend that the Greeks conquered Troy through the cunning of a wooden horse has inspired composers to create diverse musical interpretations, ranging from epic orchestral works to contemporary pieces.

In classical music history, the Troy saga has inspired numerous composers to create orchestral masterpieces. An outstanding example is Hector Berlioz's "Les Troyens" (The Trojans), a monumental opera covering the entire Troy cycle. Berlioz's musical depiction of the mythical events is characterized by dramatic intensity and reflects the epic dimensions of the Trojan War.

The myth of the Trojan Horse has also found its place in the field of film music. Film composers have interpreted the story in various genres, from dramatic films to adventure and fantasy productions. The musical accompaniment often heightens the tension and the surprising moment of narrative twist when the Trojan Horse releases its deadly inmates.

The myth has also left its mark in the world of pop music. Artists have drawn inspiration from the allegorical meaning of the Trojan Horse and translated it into metaphorical contexts. Lyrics can allude to cunning, deception, or intrusion into seemingly protected areas, using the image of the Trojan Horse as a creative metaphor.

The myth of the Trojan Horse therefore offers a rich source of inspiration for musicians of all genres. Its timeless significance as a symbol of deception and cunning, as well as a turning point in an epic narrative, makes it a fascinating subject for artistic interpretation. The diversity of musical works based on this myth demonstrates the enduring relevance and artistic appeal of this captivating tale from ancient times.
