"Mystika" by Hubert Hoche is a fascinating multimedia performance project that blurs the boundaries between music, images and dance and delves deeply into human existence. The ballet addresses life in all its facets: from birth to death, from becoming, growing, thriving and passing away. It is about the mystery of life, which we encounter with awe and whose protagonists we ourselves are nevertheless.

"Mystika" is a piece of life that explores the duality between Eros and Ethos, the driving forces and moral responsibility of man. The work includes seven musical images that represent different phases and aspects of life. These images illustrate the tension between drive and meaning, ethos and Eros, as well as individuality and constant recurrence.

The ballet integrates several art forms:
- Music: The central component that provides emotional and narrative depth.
- Dance: Expression of the physical and emotional aspects of life.
- Images: Visual representations that complement the themes of life and the human experience.

"Mystikum I and II" - The first two movements for top-level wind orchestra

Hubert Hoche has combined the first two movements of the ballet into a standalone work for top-level wind orchestra and published it under the title "Mystikum I and II". These movements summarize the initial phases of life and the first steps of human existence in a powerful musical form.

"Mystikum I"
The first movement, "Mystikum I", represents the birth and beginning of life. Musically, this movement is characterized by the following features:
- Introduction: A calm and expectant mood that symbolizes the arrival of a new life.
- Melodic lines: Delicate and ascending melodies that represent awakening and the first impulses of life.
- Dynamic development: A gradual increase in intensity and complexity that reflects the growth and first experiences of a new being.
- Timbres: Use of different instrument combinations to musically explore the diversity and potential of new life.

"Mystikum II"
The second movement, "Mystikum II", deals with childhood and early growth. This section is characterized by:
- Lively Rhythms: Dynamic and playful rhythms that capture the energy and lightheartedness of childhood.
- Theme Development: Recurring motifs that symbolize learning and the first steps of self-discovery.
- Contrasts: Alternations between quiet, thoughtful passages and lively, joyful moments that represent the diversity of childhood experiences.
- Instrumentation: Rich orchestration with special attention to woodwinds and brass to emphasize the lightness and playfulness of the beginning of life.
