Additional info/contents
These 28 terrific arrangements include music from Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. The collection features medleys of traditional ganglats, hallings, hambos, jigs, menuets, polkas, pols, polskas, and waltzes, and a few other arrangements of compositions by Edvard Grieg, Ole Bull, and Hans Christian Lumbye are included. 'The interesting melodic bits in these arrangements have been distributed among all three parts,' writes arranger Deborah Greenblatt, 'so you will all have a chance to play melodies, harmonies, and rhythm licks'. There are nine part books in all: each instrument has an A, B, and C outcome, so the orchestration can be mix-and-match. Some arrangements are suitable for advanced beginners, but the majority is at the intermediate level. Greenblatt's arrangements are consistently first-rate.
