Composer Houben, Kevin
Difficulty level 6
Duration 16:00
Additional info/contents "Where Angels Fly" was commissioned by the Flemish Music Association VLAMO. Kevin Houben composed this piece for the European Brass Band Championships 2017 in Ostend, Belgium. It is a very technical, powerful and at the same time virtuoso work, which begins with a rather fragile and delicate introduction, in which the main motif - derived from the piece La Prière from Le Retour au Pays by the Belgian composer Paul Gilson (1865-1942) - is developed. The work also contains Houben's own musical signature H B E (N). Where Angels Fly is a demanding, impressive and virtuoso competition piece.
