Additional info/contents In the case of major cinema successes, it has become customary to follow a film with at least one "sequel" (the continuation). The German composer Markus Götz asked himself why this should not also work for particularly successful wind orchestra works. In the case of his composition Adventure! from 2007, a fictional film score, it also made sense in terms of content to write a sequel. Not all the stories and adventures of the great hero had been told musically yet.
In this composition, the hero returns. He has grown older and more mature, but he is still tempted by adventure. In the opening Allegro section, he is drawn deep into the jungle. He encounters crocodiles and other wild animals, has to overcome dangerous obstacles and risks his life as always - but of course our hero masters all dangers almost playfully. The slow part offers great cinema for the ears. Longingly, our hero dreams of his distant beloved. A short intermezzo suggests that the beloved must be an oriental princess. After this quiet and romantic part, the hero prepares for the finale of his adventure. Together with his companions, he ventures on the risky and arduous path through a barren desert.
