Additional info/contents	The area around Rotenbaum is hilly, soft hills, heavily forested. Many of the musicians are farmers or close to the farming community. The Rotenbaum Forest Festival takes place in the heart of the forest in a forest clearing. Towards the Alps you can see the entire Bernese Oberland, up to Pilatus and to the west as far as Mont Blanc, an absolutely sensational view. This is THE event in Emmental on Friday and Saturday. Approximately 2,000 visitors enjoy the party twice. On Sunday there is the church service and family day, with “twirling” (a wheel of fortune) and music.

Programme notes *: At the beginning of the piece, the composer describes the dawn of a beautiful summer day in Rotenbaum-Lueg; The damp fog at the edge of the forest is evaporating more and more due to the rising sun. The church bell can be heard, life awakens. The festival begins, the visitors celebrate exuberantly and enjoy the festival. During the service on Sunday morning, dark clouds gather and soon afterwards a thunderstorm with lightning and thunder surprises the festival visitors.
