Programme notes *: additional text

It was a quiet night in the small town. The sky was dotted with an endless array of twinkling stars, and the moon shed its silvery light over the sleepy streets. However, that night there was an extraordinary event that broke the usual calm: the concert hall opened its doors for a very special musical experience - a night piece.

People streamed into the hall, excited about what awaited them on this unusual night. The orchestra was already seated on the stage and the conductor raised his baton in anticipation of the coming sounds. The term "night piece" promised a musical journey that would capture the mood and mysteries of the night.

The first notes sounded soft and rhythmic, like a gentle whisper of the wind in the trees. The brass painted the contours of the nighttime landscape with powerful staccato, while the woodwind highlighted the melodic figures like shimmering stars. The music unfolded at a slow, contemplative tempo – an adagio that seemed to embrace the stillness and majesty of the night.

As the night piece progressed, the music developed into an alternating dialogue between light and shadow, between the mystery of darkness and the hope that the rising moon brought with it. The flutes danced like shooting stars swirling through the air, and the woodwinds continued their melodic narrative as if guiding the listener through the secret paths of the night.

The night piece finally reached its climax as the entire orchestra came together in a powerful crescendo. The music flowed like a river of emotions and the listeners were captivated by the nighttime sounds. The finale slowly approached and the final notes faded away with a gentle melody that brought back the silence of the night.

When the last note had faded, there was a reverent silence in the hall. The audience lingered a moment longer before applause broke out - a recognition of the artistry and the magical atmosphere created that night. The night piece took its listeners on an emotional journey, deep into the mysteries of the night and the wonders of music.
