Composer Meechan, Peter
Difficulty level 4+
Duration 10:00
Additional info/contents Three London Places is a short suite for unaccompanied trumpet. Each of the three movements, titled Prelude, Air and Gigue, also has a subtitle dedicated to places in the British capital, although they are not the usual tourist attractions in London! The work was originally written for Martin Britt, who managed to convince the composer to write this unaccompanied suite throughout an evening in London, by buying him a beer in the three different pubs they visited that night – The Mews, The Goat and The Stanhope! Each movement of the composition is dedicated to one of these venues – without which, the piece would never have been written!
