Ferrer Ferran, a contemporary composer, has captured and musically portrayed this timeless story in his composition for top level wind orchestra. The work is divided into four movements, each reflecting important episodes from Pinocchio's adventures. Carlo Collodi, born in Florence, Italy in 1826, wrote "The Adventures of Pinocchio" as a serial novel for a children's magazine. The story begins with the woodcarver Geppetto, who carves a puppet from a piece of wood that comes to life. Pinocchio, the living wooden puppet, experiences numerous adventures and meets many characters who influence him on his journey to becoming human. The story of Pinocchio deals with themes such as honesty, remorse and the pursuit of human values.
