She lived in the 10th century and was an influential figure in the history of the Iberian Peninsula. Mumadona Dias was born around the year 900 and came from a wealthy and respected family.# The composition "Mumadona Dias" for wind orchestra by Carlos Marques is a fascinating work that musically combines historical and cultural elements. The title of the piece refers to this important historical figure and the music takes us on a sonic journey that captures various aspects of his time and environment. Mumadona Dias was best known for her charity and foundations. As patron of monasteries and churches, she supported the promotion of Christianity in the region.
