Additional info/contents The Legend of the Lunar Valentine is an ode to the traditional Chinese folk legend of the Cowherd and the Maiden. A tragic love story ensues between them, as various circumstances forbid their existence together. This work is not a programmatic work depicting the progression of their story, but rather more of a piece of music that sums up the sadness of the tale, with a forbidden love between the haevenly fairy and a human boy.

The "Legend of the Lunar Valentine" spins a deeply moving and dramatic story that challenges the boundaries between the heavens and the earth. In this legend, heavenly magic and earthly romance interweave to form a poignant web of love, longing and willingness to sacrifice. The story begins in a distant time when an enchanting fairy from the heavenly realms lost her heart to a young man from the earthly world. Their love unfolded in secret, a sparkling secret between two worlds that are normally strictly separated from each other. But hearts cannot be governed by the rules of the heavenly order, and so a forbidden love arose that challenged both heavenly and earthly powers.

The "Legend of the Lunar Valentine" tells of the secret meetings of lovers under the brilliant light of the full moon. Every forbidden rendezvous was laced with the fear of discovery and the sweet pain of desire. The fairy, of heavenly purity, longed for the warmth and humanity that could only be found on earth. The young man, on the other hand, dreamed of the heavenly heights that he could only experience through the fairy's love.

But the paradise of love did not last. The heavenly powers, aware of the forbidden union, imposed severe punishments. The fairy was condemned to leave heaven and the young man was banished from heavenly proximity. Separated by dimensions and the insurmountable chasm between their worlds, the lovers desperately searched for a way to preserve their love.

The dramatic twist in the legend culminates in a desperate act of sacrifice. To save their love, the heavenly fairy decides to exist forever as a shining star in the sky, while the young man is condemned to continue living on earth. So they are separated forever, but their love is symbolized by the shine of the moon - an eternal testament to their forbidden but undying love.

The "Legend of the Lunar Valentine" leaves a lasting impression in the hearts of listeners of beauty, pain and the transcendent power of love that transcends the boundaries of heaven and earth. This legend, carried through the centuries, teaches us that true love sometimes shines above the skies themselves, regardless of the barriers that the world imposes on us.
