"Carnival's Withdrawal" is a remarkable composition by Stephan Jaeggi, Opus 2, which fascinates with its lively and colorful depiction of Carnival. Arranged by Ray Woodfield for wind orchestra, this piece becomes a thrilling musical experience that captures the dynamism and flair of carnival in all its glory. Stephan Jaeggi's original composition is characterized by its lively rhythms, rich harmonies and melodic diversity. "Carnival's Retreat" takes listeners on a sonic journey through the streets of a lively carnival festival, where the air is filled with music, dancing and exuberant celebration.

Ray Woodfield, an experienced arranger and conductor, has skillfully captured the essence of Jaeggi's composition and adapted it for modern wind orchestras. Through deft instrumentation and orchestration, the adaptation retains the lively atmosphere and energetic drive of the original, while taking full advantage of the unique sonic possibilities of a concert band. Additionally, Woodfield's editing gives the piece additional tonal depth and dimension. The clever use of colors and textures in the wind orchestra makes it possible to experience the dynamic contrasts and emotional highlights of the composition even more intensively.
