Performer Ernst Hutter und die Egerländer Musikanten
Difficulty level 1
Additional info/contents The 1809 March was born out of the composer's love for Tyrolean brass music, which he had already got to know with his grandfather at the age of three when he visited concerts in his hometown. The march was christened "1809er" in honour of the Tyrolean freedom fighter Andreas Hofer and is intended to commemorate the Tyrolean liberation wars of 1809.

Now this march was newly arranged by Ernst Hutter for the production "Volksmusikstars singen Blasmusikhits". Thus an irresistible combination of Tiroler melodies and the Egerländer style developed. A very racy first theme is followed by a strongly virtuosic bass solo, which alternates with warm tenor horn and flugelhorn sounds to prepare the wonderfully simple trio. The catchy trio melody can be interpreted instrumentally as well as supported by vocals.
