Das folgende melodische Thema wird von einer schönen Gegenmelodie in den Hörnern und Euphonien begleitet, während in der zweiten Reprise ein Basssolo zu hören ist. Das Trio-Thema beginnt im Chalumeau-Register und mündet schließlich in einer ausgelassenen Wiederholung im Blech, verziert von den hohen Holzbläsern.
