In this meaningful and creative piece, three distinctive scenes of the city are musically represented, capturing its diversity, energy and beauty. I. Carnaval Miami: One of the scenes James Swearingen observed while flying over Miami was Carnaval Miami - an annual festival showcasing the best in art, music, fashion, food and sports. This lively event attracts approximately one million visitors each year and is supported by volunteers from the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana. The composition captures the excitement and enthusiasm of this festival with driving rhythms and memorable themes accompanied by Latin percussion elements. II. A Heavenly View: Another scene that inspired Swearingen was the heavenly views from Miami hotels, offering breathtaking views of the bay and beautiful sunsets. The music reflects this majestic and tranquil atmosphere with modern harmonies and melodic passages that capture the beauty of the landscape from above. III. Fireworks Galore!: Finally, Swearingen watched the breathtaking fireworks show on July 4th, America's Independence Day, which marks the start of summer in Miami.
