Additional info/contents	Luxembourg composer Marco Pütz was inspired to write this work by an album of Native American poems and songs. The four movements Rocking the Cradle, The Mystical Song, Circle Dance and Battle Dance are based partly on traditional Native American songs and partly on the composer's imagination. The instrumentation also allows for incomplete scoring; only the percussion instruments should be fully scored.

Programme notes *: "Arrows of Lightning" is a four-movement work by Luxembourg composer Marco Pütz. This composition has its roots in a collection of ancient American songs and poems. The title of the work is the translation of an old Indian song sung before the hunt, and usually accompanied by a dance, to enchant the arrows so that they are as fast as lightning. Seduced by this story, it was therefore quite naturally that the composer decided to use this title to define his work. While the themes of the various movements emanate mainly from Amerindian dances or songs, they are enriched with thematic elements from the composer's imagination. The American Indians, their great culture, their way of living in harmony with the natural environment have always fascinated.
