James Rae's composition "Gospel Shout" is a stirring piece for youth wind band that captures the spirit and energy of gospel music. With this composition, James Rae, an experienced musician and educator, has created a work that challenges and inspires young musicians.

"Gospel Shout" is characterized by its lively melodies and stirring rhythms. The piece begins with a powerful and energetic theme played by the entire band. The music is characterized by the characteristic rhythms and harmonies of gospel music, which fill the piece with a positive and optimistic energy.
