Composer Tanaka, Kumiko
Difficulty level 4
Evaluation level of countries D3 (German medium level)
Duration 9:45
Additional info/contents In her suite for wind orchestra, Kumiko Tanaka transports us to the fairytale world of Hans Christian Andersen. Il Cinghiale di Bronzo (The Bronze Pig) is about a poor boy who rides through the streets of Florence at night on a bronze pig that has come to life and is spouting water. The bronze pig that inspired Andersen's fairy tale can still be seen today. The inspiration that Kumiko Tanaka drew from his tale and the atmosphere of the beautiful city of Florence can be clearly felt in her composition.
