Additional info/contents Truffles (Tuber) are considered a delicacy all over the world because the special thing about them is that they cannot be planted or bred. You have to find them! This gives you something mysterious and noble. Provence is one of the areas where these underground mushrooms can be found relatively often. The French are very proud of this, because when asked what is tastier than a truffle, there can only be one right answer: "Two truffles".

In his Rhapsodie Truffée Kees Vlak takes us on a journey of discovery into Provence. Of course, this also includes a truffle search. "At dawn", quietly and secretly, we set off, because nobody should notice "In the mountain village" that we go on the adventurous search for the culinary treasure. With truffle dogs and truffle pigs, who can sniff out the noble truffles under the ground with their fine noses, we walk in the "Pastorale" through the beautiful Provencal landscape to the forest, because truffles grow at the roots of trees, especially often of oaks. And in fact we discover some remarkable specimens under a large oak tree while "searching for truffles". The joy is great and we proudly return with our find to the village, where "The Truffle Festival on the Market Square" has already begun. There is a lively hustle and bustle here and the successful truffle hunters present their products, sometimes in a curious way. Some wear long coats, under which they hide the fine truffles - and only if an interested buyer seems trustworthy enough, he may have a look at the precious mushrooms before finally negotiating the price.

In the evening everyone comes together in the village and after the "L'apèritif" there is a big "gala dinner with truffles white and black" where we celebrate together.

Musically, Kees Vlak captures the typical French charm with a playful and slightly coquettish atmosphere, for example by making small reservations and dissolving them. The individual instrument groups and timbres stand out again and again from the overall sound, which is generally rather transparent. This should represent the individual lifestyle of the French, as well as some solo passages. At the same time the truffle search is reflected here, because most seekers prefer to go alone.

1. "At dawn (Dans l'obscurité de l'aube)
2. "In the Mountain Village" (Le Village en Haut)
3. pastoral
4. "At the Truffle Hunt" (À la Truffière)
5. "The Truffle Festival in the Market Square" (Fête de Truffes à la Place du Marché)
6. "L'Apèritif" (The Apéritif)
7. "Gala Dinner with Truffles White and Black" (Grand Dîner aux Blanches et Noires)"

So, in order to elicit the French charm of the Rhapsodie Truffée, one should pay particularly close attention to the articulation and dynamics employed by Kees Vlak.
