Jetzt kann dieses Solo auch durch Harmonie oder Fanfare-Orchester gespielt werden als Solo für Alt-Saxophon. Für den Solisten gibt es zwei unterschiedliche Soloparts: eines entspricht dem Original und die zweite Fassung kann von einem virtuosen Solisten verwendet werden. 'Demelza” is a big hit in the british brassband scene as a solo for alto horn or soprano cornet with brassband. From now on this piece can also be played by wind and fanfare bands with a solo for alto saxophone. The soloist can chose between two solo parts. One is the same as in the brassband version but the second one uses the wider range and the technical possibilities of the saxophone Demelza is in het Verenigd Koninkrijk een grote hit als solo voor hoorn of es-cornet met brassband. Dit arrangement is geschreven als solo voor alt-sax met begeleiding van harmonie of fanfare. Als solo instrument heb ik gekozen voor de alt-sax omdat op dit instrument een grote expressiviteit bereikt kan worden. De bovenste regel van de solo partij is de originele solo. Op de onderste regel heb ik alternatieven toegevoegd die naar keuze door de technisch meer onderlegde solist gebruikt kunnen worden. Zij kunnen die maten dan spelen in plaats van de maten in de bovenste regel maar de expressiviteit moet het belangrijkste aspect van deze solo blijven. De techniek moet bijzaak blijven.
