Additional info/contents The music society Melodia Goldach from Switzerland commissioned Gilbert Tinner to write Start up the Band, an ideal opening piece for a concert. After a lively, fanfare-like intro by the brass, high-spirited phrases in the woodwinds and powerful bass and timpani lines, the theme follows - in rock style. The middle section can also be used as background music (e.g. with a concert announcement or similar).
