Additional info/contents	The Festfanfare consists of two large parts, a festive majestic introduction and conclusion, as well as a somewhat calmer melody in the middle sections. The motif of the first part is the first piece I ever composed and dates back to 1978. The 1st trumpet begins, and gradually other instruments join in with the same motif in canon-like playing. Shortly before part A, the tempo increases almost imperceptibly and the melody, always soft and broad, is played by the clarinets or tenor horn/baritone. All other instruments provide the accompaniment or background music. The trumpets, flugelhorns and clarinets play the same theme from part B with the same articulation. This all culminates in part C, which again has the opening theme and is generally played marcato and fortissimo. Now the woodwinds, horns and basses are also included in the imitation playing. Shortly before the final chord, the tempo is slowed down a little. Werner C. Veszely
