Composer Yeo, Benjamin
Difficulty level 4
Evaluation level of countries D4 (German upper level)
Duration 8:50
Additional info/contents This short work by Singaporean composer Benjamin Yeo sketches some glorious impressions of the flora and fauna of Gondwana (or Gondwanaland: the supercontinent of South America, Africa and Arabia before the continents drifted apart). A few strange sounds from nature announce a lively allegro with lots of percussion and quick time signature changes. A beautiful, romantic melody describes the tranquillity of nature. At the end of the work, the opening theme returns once more, but this time in a large, monumental orchestration.
