Commuter - der geschäftigste Satz, der sich zu einem Grandiozo-Finale aufschwingt. "The Journeyman" contains four miniatures by one of the most successful composers for this medium. The four movements are preceded by a short fanfare-like introduction. Then come 1st Wayfarer - light and playfully delicate; 2nd Pilgrim - broad and flowing with a lively middle section; 3. Sundowner - very relaxed with a gentle light rhythm; and 4. Commuter - the busiest movement, soaring to a grandiozo finale.
