André Waignein attached great importance to the choice of keys, the position and the instrumentation in order to make it particularly easy to play. The work is divided into three movements. The first, Cortège, has a very impressive effect right from the start with its majestic step and tone solemn.The second movement, Chorale, is more cheerful in character and invites meditation. Farandole, the third movement, seems lively on the other hand. From the first bar it is full of exuberant happiness, jubilation and joy of life.
