Der Charme seiner farbigen Musik bringt die Liebe, die er ihr widmete, sehr deutlich zum Ausdruck. Sein Violinkonzert, lebhaft, springend und singend, wurde zum Gedenken an den berühmten Sänger Jacques Brel geschrieben, dessen aussergewöhnlicher Orchestrierer er war. Diese Gefühle haben mich dazu bewogen, dieses Werk, dessen Titel 'Souvenance' an Momente einer tiefen Freundschaft erinnern, zu spielen. Jean-Pierre Wallez Die drei Sätze wurden mit erfundenen Wörtern betitelt, die auf Souvenance [Erinnerung] reimen: I. Criance (Schreiung), II. Aimance (Liebung), III. Grinçance (Kreischung) Das Concerto 'Souvenance' wurde am 13. November 1992 von Jean-Pierre Wallez und dem Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie am Königlichen Theater von Mons (Belgien) uraufgeführt. Dieses Werk wurde auf CD aufgenommen (erhältlich auch durch Editions Bim): 'François Rauber, 4 Concertos' [2002]: Concerto für Klavier und Orchester (1985) (Editions Bim): Solist: Damien Nédonchelle; Concerto 'Souvenance' für Violine und Orchester (1992) (Editions Bim), Solist: Jean-Pierre Wallez; Concerto für Oboe und Orchester (1968), Solist: Jacques Tys; Concerto 'Humeurs' (1989) für Trompete und Streicher (Editions Bim), Solist: Guy Touvron. MAN 5057 (HMCD 83) 'When one remembers François Rauber, the first words which come to memory are elegance and sensitivity. His charming and imaginative use of musical colors expresses totally the love he had for that art. His violin concerto, lively, bouncing and singing, has been dedicated to the memory of Jacques Brel, the famous Belgian song singer, for whom François Rauber wrote most of the orchestrations. These feelings have convinced me to play that work, of which the title ‘Souvenance' recalls moments of great shared friendship.' MAN 5057 (HMCD 83) Lorsque l'on évoque le souvenir de François Rauber, les premières pensées qui viennent à l'esprit sont l'élégance et la sensibilité. Le charme de sa musique colorée exprime pleinement l'amour qu'il lui portait. Son concerto de violon, à la fois vif, bondissant et chantant, a été créé à la mémoire de Jacques Brel, dont il fut l'orfèvre de ses orchestrations. Ces sentiments m'ont incité à jouer cette oeuvre, dont le titre 'Souvenance' rappelle les moments d'une grande amitié partagée.
