It was first performed by Michel Becquet and the Suisse Romande Orchestra conducted by Roderick Brydon on October 17th 1986 in Geneva. 'Musique pour trombone' est une oeuvre en trois mouvements composée à l'intention du virtuose français Michel Becquet, grâce à la commande de la Radio Suisse Romande.
