Additional info/contents
The present work published here for the first time bears the title: 'Concertino für die Tenor Bass Posaune mit Begleitung des ganzen Orchesters'. The source for the publication was the autograph score of the work preserved in the Manschopfliches Museum für Musik- und Theatergeschichte, Frankfurt am Main under the shelf mark 1941.144. We wish here to thank Mr. Daniel Lienhard who discovered and submitted this manuscript. As far as we know, secondary sources such as individual parts material have not survived. The source can be qualified as accurate. There were many common abbreviations and barely legible section of manuscript, but there were no insurmountable difficulties. Dubious and ambiguous places - and only a few number of these provided serious problems - were hopefully solved in the best way. The present form of the publication permits the performer to make his own decision as well as to reconstruct the original score in mind.
This Concertino being an early romantic work needs a performance full of delicate nuances. The beauty of phrasing in a live performance cannot be spelled out and is left to the performer's discretion.
