Der Ausdruck 'virtual' (virtuell) aus der aktuellen Cyberwelt-Sprache, lehnt sich an die Tatsache, dass der Choral nicht wirklich präsent ist - ausser am Ende des Stückes. Die 'Essenz' des Chorals, in Form von thematischen und harmonischen Fragmenten, wirbelt umher, taucht dann schlussendlich als Choral selbst kurz auf, um dann in der Stille zu entschwinden. Ist vom Hawthorne String Quartet auf Naxos 8.559661 eingespielt worden. The Fantasia was commissioned by the Terezin Music Foundation in 2003. The term 'virtual', borrowed from contemporary cyberspace usage, refers to the fact that the choral is not really there — that is, until the end of the piece. It's 'essence', in the form of thematic and harmonic fragments swirl around until they finally emerge into the choral itself. It makes a brief appearance, but then begins to disintegrate, vanishing into silence. The Hawthorne String Quartet recorded the Fantasia on Naxos 8.559661. Cette Fantaisie fut commandée par la Terezin Music Foundation en 2003. Le terme 'virtuel', emprunté au vocabulaire contemporain du cyberespace, fait référence au fait que le choral n'est pas vraiment présent, si ce n'est à la fin de la pièce. L'essence du choral, sous forme de fragments thématiques et harmoniques tourbillonne jusqu'à émerger finalement dans le choral lui-même. Brève apparence avant de disparaître dans le silence.
