Additional info/contents	Durch den grossen Erfolg der 'Cinq Nouvelles' für 4 Hörner (Opus 34a, 1947 - Editions Bim, CO 18) kam dieses kleine Werk als Fortsetzung pittoresker Genrestücke für dieselbe Besetzung zustande. Den kleinen Marsch kann man sich als eine Parade der Ameisen vorstellen - Chant sentimental als den Gesang eines verliebten Katers, unterbrochen von empörten Katzen - Das Scherzo als ein kleines Mäuseballett - Valse ironique als den Tanz einer Entenballerina und das Finale als den Abmarsch der ganzen Menagerie. Jede andere Assoziation ist auch möglich und bleibt dem geneigten Hörer überlassen. Jan Koetsier Because of the great success of the 'Cinq Nouvelles' for 4 horns (opus 34a, 1947 - Editions Bim, CO 18), I was inspired to write this small picturesque piece for the same instrumentation. One could imagine the little March as a Parade of the Ants; the Chant sentimental as the song of an amorous Tomcat, interrupted by indignant cats; the Scherzo as a lit­tle mouseballet; the Valse ironique as the dance of a duck ballerina; and the Finale as the triumphant marching away of the whole menagerie. The listener is also free to imagine any other scenario to the music... Jan Koetsier C'est le grand succès des 'Cinq Nouvelles' pour 4 cors (Opus 34a, 1947 - Editions Bim, CO 18) qui m'a incité à écrire cette petite oeuvre pittoresque pour la même formation. On peut laisser l'imagination librement illustrer ces petites pièces, par exemple, la Petite marche pour une parade de fourmis, le Chant sentimental comme aubade d'un matou amoureux interrompu par des chattes offusquées, le Scherzo comme petit ballet de souris, la Valse ironique pour une ballerine de canne et le Final comme sortie triomphale de toute cette ménagerie.
