Additional info/contents	Der Titel ist ein Wortspiel mit einem Baseball-Ausdruck genannt 'Bases loaded' - eine Situation in welcher alle Bases mit Läufern besetzt sind und der Werfer die Möglichkeit hat, sie alle auf die Homebase zu bringen und einen 'Grand Slam' mit 4 Punkten zu machen. Das Werk ist eine funky-Herausforderung für 'basses'. Geschrieben für das Tuba/Euphonium Quartett Sotto Voce, ist 'Bass is Loaded' als Konzert-Schlussstück gedacht, mit einem Improvisationsteil, wo die Musiker über einer Bassline ihre eigenen Solos gestalten können. Based on a pun of the situation in baseball where all the bases have runners on them and the player at bat has the intense potential to hit a home run and score four runs (termed a 'Grand Slam'), this work is a funky feature for the 'basses' of the band. The work was written for the tuba/euphonium quartet, Sotto Voce, and is intended as a piece for a quartet or tuba ensemble to close out a concert. It features an improvisation section so the players can create their own solos over the funky bassline. Le titre est un jeu de mots sur une situation bien particulière dans le base-ball appelée 'bases loaded' [bases pleines], lorsque toutes les bases sont occupées par des coureurs et que le frappeur a la possibilité de les faire tous rentrer (grand chelem). Cette pièce est une démonstration branchée pour les 'basses'. Ecrite pour le quatuor de tubas 'Sotto Voce', 'Bass is Loaded' est conçue pour clore un concert et contient une section d'improvisation où les instrumentistes peuvent s'exprimer sur la ligne de basse.
