Das zweite tut es mit als Quintolen verkleideten Triolen und das dritte mit Triolen als Sechszehntel. Jedes Instrument spielt rigoros sein eigenes Tempo. Der Interpret sollte sich nicht täuschen lassen: Das Titel-Wortspiel in der Originalsprache soll die grosse Schwierigkeit dieses Stückes nicht maskieren... Das Stück wurde zweimal nacheinander von zwei verschiedenen Ensembles gespielt: Fabien Girard, Pietro Soldini und Sébastien Schiesser von der Hochschule der Künste Zürich und Patrick Stadler, Markus Treier und Christoph Maass von der Hochschule für Musik Basel. Three axes for three saxes, the title is programmatic. The first saxophone turns around his axis in quintuplets (and 'tentuplets') disguised as sextuplets. The second one does it with triplets disguised as quintuplets and the third one with triplets as sixteenth notes. Each instrument plays very strictly in his own tempo. The performer should make no mistake about it: the word game of the title can't hide the great difficulty of the piece. The first performance occurred on January 28, during the '2007 Days of the Saxophone' at the Lausanne Conservatory (Switzerland). The piece was played twice by two different ensembles: Fabien Girard, Pietro Soldini and Sébastien Schiesser from the Hochschule der Künste Zürich and Patrick Stadler, Markus Treier and Christoph Maass from the Hochschule für Musik Basel. Trois axes pour trois saxes, ce titre est programme. Le premier saxophone tourne autour de son axe en quintolets (et en ' décatolets ') déguisés en sextolets. Le deuxième le fait en triolets déguisés en quintolets, le troisième en triolets déguisés en doubles croches. Chaque instrument joue dans son propre tempo d'une façon très rigoureuse.
