Dieses Motiv -Reihen von Achtelnoten-Achtelpausen - treibt das Stück durch verschiedene Sequenzen. Das Wort Weiter hat auf Deutsch mehrere Bedeutungen und als Trainer meiner Tochters Fussballmannschaft höre ich öfter die Zuschauer 'weiter, weiter!' schreien, als Aufmunterung weiter zu kämpfen, nicht nachzulassen. Und dies ist genau worum es in diesem Stück geht: eine Vorwärts-Dynamik, die nur mit dem Schlussakkord endet. Weiter wurde am 14. Juni 2008 in den USA vom Dirigenten Carl Topilow und dem National Repertory Orchestra (professionelles Jugendorchester) uraufgeführt, zur Einweihung des neuen Freiluft-Konzertplatzes. This motif (a series of eighth notes followed by eighth rests) propels the piece through its various sections. The word Weiter is used in many ways in Germany, and as a coach on my daughters football team, quite often I would hear people shouting, 'weiter, weiter', meaning, keep on going forward, don't give up. And that is exactly what this piece is about - forward movement that doesn't stop until the final chord. Weiter was premiered on June 14, 2008 by conductor Carl Topilow and the National Repertory Orchestra (professional youth orchestra) of Breckenridge, Colorado, and was written to celebrate the opening of their new outdoor performance facility. Le mot Weiter a plusieurs significations en allemand, et en tant qu'entraîneur de l'équipe de football de ma fille, j'entends souvent les gens crier 'weiter, weiter', dans le sens d'une injonction à continuer à attaquer ou à ne pas lâcher prise. Et c'est exactement ce dont il est question dans cette pièce: lancer un mouvement têtu qui ne s'arrête qu'avec l'accord final. Weiter a été créé le 14 juin 2008 aux Etats-Unis par le chef Carl Topilow et le National Repertory Orchestra (orchestre de jeunes professionnels) de Breckenridge, Colorado, USA, et a été composé pour l'inauguration de leur nouvel espace de concerts en plein air.
