The Kansas City Suite, composed by Benny Carter, was recorded by the Count Basie Band in 1960 ('Kansas City Suite - the Music of Benny Carter'). It is comprised of ten marvelous pieces, each different in style and tempo, but all very much in the 'Basie Bag.'
