You can hear the minstrels and merry songs in the castle. The audience is there live when the knights set off to battle and can vividly empathise with the fight against the dark forces. Tense silence after the smoke slowly clears after the battle. And finally, alongside the grief over the fallen, the joy and pride over the victory and the newly won freedom.
