Music can evoke feelings of fear and excitement, similar to the "fight or flight" mechanism. Music has the ability to evoke a wide range of emotions. Fast and loud music can speed up the heartbeat and increase adrenaline levels, leading to feelings of excitement and tension. This is particularly evident in genres such as rock, metal and punk, where aggressive rhythms and loud guitar riffs create a combative mood. This type of music is often used in films and video games to create tension and action. On the other hand, music can also serve as a form of escape. Slow and melodic music can have a calming effect and transport the listener to another world. This type of music is often used to relieve stress and promote relaxation. Artists such as Enya and Brian Eno are known for their relaxing sounds that can put the listener in a peaceful mood.
